➤ LanguageCert Academic tests your listening, reading, writing and speaking in academic English. The Australian Department of Home Affairs accepts LANGUAGECERT Academic taken at a secure test centre as evidence of English. Check the requirements for your visa.
➤ For an Australian visa, you must take the test at a test centre. The online, at-home version is not accepted for Australian visas.
➤ The test takes about 2 hours 34 minutes: Listening (about 40 minutes), Reading (50 minutes), Writing (50 minutes) and Speaking (about 14 minutes).
➤ Speaking is conducted by a live examiner. It has four parts: questions about you, two role plays, reading a short text aloud, and a two-minute presentation.
➤ Writing has two tasks: a 150 to 200 word report or article based on an infographic, and a 250 word essay on an academic subject.
➤ Official results are usually available in five working days.
➤ English levels for points-tested skilled visas (tests taken on or after 7 August 2025). The scores below are listening / reading / writing / speaking. You need at least the listed score in each part. Other visas, including student visas, have their own requirements.

| Proficient | 67 / 71 / 78 / 82 |
| Superior | 80 / 83 / 89 / 89 |
➤ Scores can change. Always check the Home Affairs English language page before you book your test.
➤ LanguageCert Academic is also used for university admission in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, the USA and Canada. Always check your university's own English requirements.
